DAY 5: Body Scan
Mindfulness body scan meditation promotes greater awareness of the physical body. It uses the physical sensations of the body and visualization as an anchor to fix the mind in the physical body and more importantly, in the present moment. Our word for the day is AWARENESS
Today’s writing prompt is, what sensations have you felt in your body that made you more aware? What does it feel like to be completely body aware?
It’s Day 5 of the 21 Day Mindfulness Meditation Challenge. Set your timer for 7 minutes and BEGIN with your meditation session, focus on your breath and your awareness for the day. To begin, take 5 deep cleansing breaths and then just BREATHE in a natural rhythm. Today take your moments to focus on being aware of the things around you and within you. Notice sensation, and the mind’s reaction to sensation, via awareness of the body.
